6600GT AGP Stability Issues
As of the last 2 driver releases (at least) I've been experiencing lockups when using the nvidia driver. (No problems when just using the nv driver). This seems to happen with any version of Linux I try (Linspire, Ubuntu 6.04, SUSE Enterprise 10, OpenSUSE, Fedora, and Slackware), as well as Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 builds.
I haven't tried FreeBSD or MS Windows. I'm thinking it's a driver bug.
I will try to get a bug-report later once I get another machine on the network, if I can ssh/telnet in after the video card locks up.
I've tried reseating the card and molex connectors, no difference. The power supply should have plenty of power but I'll need to open the case again and read the specs on it to be sure. But the BIOS hasn't reported any hardware faults on the power supply lines.
The machine is a Sun Workstations W1100z with AMD Opteron 150 processor, 1gb ECC ram. NVidia 6600GT AGP.
Any other suggestions for things to try? Any other info you need that won't come out of the diagnostic tool?
