First off, I found another thread with pretty much the same subject, but for a different driver revision, kernel and card.
My problem happened with:
- driver: 8774.
- kernel: custom 2.6.17-beyond3 x86_64 SMP/UP
- card: FX5900
- OS: Fedora Core 5
What is odd is that the driver seemed to work just fine with -beyond2. Official Fedora kernel (currently logged in with it), -beyond2 and the latest driver do seem to be OK, however -beyond3 seems to be the problem. Booting with acpi=off didn't help (I thought of it, as the beyond sources include some acpi patches), otherwise same config as -beyond2.
How do I generate a bug output from the X server?
The system seems to do this especially when scrolling repeatedly (read, grabbing the scrollbar) of a window, especially Firefox windows seem to be prone to trigger this.
