Default ****ty DVD Picture Please Help

Does anyone know how to get the picture quality better on DVD's on the computer. My picture is grainy and dark. The following software i use is Power DVD 6, VLC Media Player and Media Player Classic(CCCP). My picture sucks and i was wondering if there is a way to improve it. Thanks

So turn up the brightness

Many DVDs are poor quality to begin with.. In that case I don't think there is very much you can do. You could try ffdshow to process effects on the raw video, or maybe a better decoder (Purevideo perhaps), but that's about it.
