I previously posted this under a similiar title...
Following is the log using startx -- -logverbose 5 http://modasalon.phpwebhosting.com/nVidia/Xorg.0.log When X starts up, the visual is really bad... Like snow on the old B&W TV's that one was watching out in the backwoods camping... Last edited by TKBuisan; 09-03-06 at 11:38 PM. Reason: Update Title to correct fat finger error |

You've posted an X log generated against the vesa X driver.

Okay... These are the logs that were created when using the nvidia drivers and trying to start an X session.

According to the bug report, the only native mode is 1440x900@60Hz, yet you're requesting 1024x768. I'd expect poor image quality at a non-native mode.

Hmmm... I put 1440X900@60Hz in my Xorg.conf file... Do I need to specify anywhere else?

Xorg.conf is not the same as xorg.conf. X uses /etc/X11/xorg.conf by default, and 1440x900 does not appear in the xorg.conf in your bug report.
Also, please do not duplicate the same issues to linux-bugs@nvidia.com as you've posted here, as it will only slown the response time. -Lonni |
