Default problem with dual dvi on 6800 XT

Oops, posted this thread originally in wrong forum! I have an XFX Geforce 6800 XT. I am running the current 8774 drivers, but for whatever reason, only one dvi port seems to work. I have a 19" LCD monitor, and a 30" samsung HDTV. I can plug either one into the port that works, and it will display correctly (well, sort of, the HDTV has cropping issues, but that is currently not the issue at hand). However, whichever device is plugged into the other port doesn't display anything at all, and according to the nvidia configuration program, simply does not exist. I know both ports do in fact work, as I have previously used this card in windows, and both devices are detected simultaneously. Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but I am at a loss to figure out why both ports are not being detected. They are detected in my X logs, but other than that, I cannot seem to access anything other than my default monitor.Any ideas? following post contains output of my logfile

You've specified:

You can only use a maximum of two display devices with the nvidia X driver. You're specifying three, which is an invalid configuration. I'm also, not clear why you're using the ConnectedMonitor option at all, as you've not described a setup which matches its usage requirements.

Also, you stated that you wanted to use dual DVI, yet you're specifying TV-Out options such as "TVOutFormat". DVI normally refers to DFP's, not a TV. Are you trying to run the HDTV over DVI, or via a TV cable/adapter?

Please remove the ConnectedMonitor option, start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 5

and then generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.

ok, done. Attached is the generated file. However, I'm not sure if it went right, as I've never used the -- -logverbose 5 option before. It never started gnome, just went to a generic x screen with no wm running at all. Perhaps this is what was supposed to happen, and I am just ignorant, but thought I would pass it along. Also, had to compress the file in order to attach, was too big by default.

oh, sorry, where are my manners. Thanks for the help. I have been blindly struggling through this trying to get it to work, which should account for the strange inconsistencies in my config file. I finally got it to display on my TV via S-video last night, but the image is shifted down and to the right and gets cut off, unless I use my tv only through S-video, in which case it displays fine. I would like to get it working through dvi however, as the tv is capable of much higher resolutions than s-video supports. thanks again

According to your bug report, when using two DFPs (or the TV over DVI), the two displays have no native modes in common. So attempting to run Twinview in Clone orientation is going to result in one of the displays (DFP-1 , the Samsung) getting its image cropped. You'd probably be better off not using Clone mode, so that you can specify a native mode for each display, such that there is no loss of image.

See the X log in the bug report for the EDID sections for DFP-0 and DFP-1, to determine which native modes are available over DVI.
