BAH! I'm being driven insane by Java Virtual Machine
I need it to play Java games through Internet Explorer. I can't and M$ isn't allowing autoupdates with it
 Anywhere I can get it? Thanks

what version of JVM are u looking for 1.5??
Try the one from SUN. What do u exactly mean it isnt installing properly. Is your browser not using the JVM or the basic JVM command is not recognized by your system?

I use Sun's Java machine. It's nice and it's not from The Man in Redmond.

How to install MS JAVA VM
Remember to check IOD feature (Install On Demand) in Advanced tab of Internet option (you should find 2 of IOD thingy, one is for IE and other) and access any internet site that uses JAVA VM. Then IE will prompt to download MS JAVA VM.
You can enable bot of them, or just IE IOD. If you enable IOD for others, Ie will prompt you to download other IE plug-ins such as comet curser or other internet crap programs. Last edited by JohnsonLKD; 08-17-02 at 08:24 AM. |

I had the same problem, just go to your IE settings and go to advanced then look for JAVA settings and enable them.

I'm at work so I haven't got access to the exact locations/dates, but in the Update Catalogue on XP's update site, there is a patch dated April that has the JVM included in it (in fact, that's all there is in it)
The name of the update doesn't give it away, but the release notes do. Stick a comment here later if you need more info, I'll be home in about 4 hours so I can update you then. Worst case scenario, I've got it saved to my HDD anyway, nabbed it when it got removed from the auto update
