Now I'm pretty pissed off.

Sent my 360 away to be repaired as it kept crashing. I got it back, played a bit of doom, switched it off.

Got home tonight, switched it on, started up doom, and crash. Rebooted, 3 red lights every time.

Anyone want to buy a brick?

Sorry to hear that man. Since the last time I posted on this thread Microsoft has come out and admitted that 360s manufactured before January 2006 have a higher than expected failure rate. If I were you I'd check out this link first http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534 then call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and demand a NEW 360 with a recent build date.

I've had electronics fail in the past. I've never gone looney tunes and said " OMG THERYRE ALL BAD!! MASSIVE DESIGN FLAW!!!!." Here's a quote from SIN:

That always cracks me up when a PS3 fanboy calls someone an X360 fanboy. At least the X360 fan has a reason to be a fan.

Anyway, yes pretty much all my friends have had to get their 360 repaired. I happen to think the 360 release was quite messy and too soon as well.

BTW, I'm not a fanboy of anything before you ask.

Thats a very lame argument mate. So going by your logic, because it isnt out yet, looking forward to it is just retarded? I suppose before the 360 was out you werent a fanboy because you had never seen/owned/played it? Its only natural that if the previous generation of a console was good, you will look forward to the next one.

I know this isn't directed at me. But such things do occur...

I wasn't a xbox360 fanboy before it came out. I took every effort to critisize it, in fact. People used to dis me for insulting it. I preordered a 360, like I will (as long as I can) for Wii and PS3. It wasn't even until around a month before the 360's launch that I got 'hyped' up at all.

I believe this is the way it works for most 'normal' people. There are those who look forward to a console that's really far off before they really know anything at all about it. Those are 'fanboys', and there are quite a number of them on the internets.


Anyways, I have had my 360 repaired as well. It took longer than I would have liked, and the process was at times annoying (like UPS wanting to charge me for pickup, and me calling MS (India) and MS calling UPS to tell them they'll get their money). In the end it turned out alright, as they reimbursed me for the MS points I purchased and have made good use of the points I wasted before. I consider that payback for the weeks wasted with the 360 defect.
