Best Bit Torrent Client - Page 4

uTorrent for now, but voted Azureus. I'd choose it over any other BT client anytime anywhere. Im using uTorrent because my new PC crashes whenever i use Azureus.

Since I'm Mac-tastic, I use Transmission. Simple, lightweight, basic. I don't do a lot of torrenting anyway, so it suits my needs just fine.

My max connections is set to 130 now. It was at 150. I think it seems a little better overall, but I guess we'll see in a few days if my brother hasnt had the problems with yahoo messenger.

Well, just go to a torrent search site like TorrentSpy.com and look for something (something legal

). The torrents at the top of the list will generally have the most seeders (people with the torrent fully downloaded) and peers (people with the torrent partially downloaded) to get the files from. Just download the torrent file and open it and uTorrent pop up. Itl start downloading all of the pieces of the file from the peers. Its pretty simple.

Check the uTorrent site for more detailed info. They have a ton of great info on there about the program as well as torrents in general.

never use TorrentSpy. got busted from there once because they hand over your info to anyone who asks.

That shouldn't be an issue unless you're downloading illegal content.

In that case it doesn't really matter where you download the torrent from. It's still pretty easy for someone to track you. After all, your IP address is published to the tracker. Which means anyone else downloading the same torrent (i.e. anti-p2p agencies such as MPAA, RIAA, etc.) can get your IP too. All they need to do is run a whois, and contact your ISP.

I got a warning letter and call from my ISP about a DMCA violation tracked by the Software business alliance or some crap like that. They knew the exact torrent I was downloading. I assumed it was because of Torrentspy but I guess it could have just been the torrent itself. Anyway, that was the last illegal thing I downloaded using bittorrent.
