Default 9629 on AMD64 - signal 11 in nvidia_drv.so(_nv001261X+0x4d) -

Hello,

My X server crashes reproducibly upon starting an application which switches screen resolution (e.g. stellarium).

I've followed the advice in the "If you have a stability problem" thread and none of it helped.

Attaching nvidia bug report log.

Regards,
R.

This is a known bug which is specific to certain types of mode changes while using a DFP. It can be worked around either by using xrandr to change to the new mode (rather than letting your app make the change), or downgrading to an older driver version. This bug will be resolved in the next driver release.

Thanks,
Lonni

Thank you for a quick reply.

I've switched to VGA cable instead of DVI and it seems to work OK now.
Looking forward to try DVI again when the next driver is released.

Regards,
R.
