I played with options to force tv out (it can be a wrong config from nvidia's point of view but anyway). And with that conf I forced TV out (with x starting two screens) but the LCD went down. So finally I had :1 on TV and nothing (141hz signal) at :0 LCD. |

Ok here are my logs
Here we have - nvidia-settings generated xorg.conf dual head setup (nv-settings detected TV). Result: LCD is up, TV was not detected. |

This is my dreadful config. The result - x dualhead, TV runs, LCD "signal out of sync". Hope it helps.
PS: for the first log, I changed the TV HorizSync and VertRefresh to "more correct" numbers. Same result. PPS: killing X and restarting it - deadlock. PPPS: singlehead LCD setup is fine. |

lxnay,
Its interesting that the ConnectedMonitor option doesn't help in your case. However, I still think that you're seeing the same issue as I saw yesterday, as the TV Encoder isn't listed in your X log. I just retested with a GeForce 6600, but wasn't able to reproduce what you're seeing, so I'm not sure why your results differ. sams0n, Thanks for the bug report. I can reproduce this problem when setting up separate X screens. However, on my hardware, with Twinview, ConnectedMonitor still works around the failure. I'll update the bug I opened yesterday to reflect this. Thanks, Lonni |

I can setup Twinview with positive result but twinview is not a fun config in case of LCD + TV. Dualhead is much more convenient. I hope for a fix. Regards. |

I am also using separate X screens. The ConnectedMonitor option does not work around the problem. Bug report attached.

Might be this patch that causes the non-detection of the TV Decoder?:
Code:

And here is mine. Dual head automatic TV detection is a failure. Twinview poststarting detection with nvidia-settings works, but it's not as good as dual head, and it doesnt work from xorg.conf.
Dual head (separate screen) seems better, especially because XV doesnt seem to work on Twinview on either of the screens.

Hi there,

I hope our dear nvidia guys will manage to fix this Kind regards Sébastien |

I also lost TV-OUT (using dual head config) with 9625 drivers after upgrading from 8774. Xorg logs had the same message that only CRT display device is found, while nvidia-settings recognized the TV fine.
I got it working again by changing the ConnectedMonitor option so that both CRT and TV are listed for both devices (the commented out option is the previous value): Section "Device" Identifier "NV" Driver "nvidia" ... # Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT,TV" ... EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "TV" Driver "nvidia" ... # Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT,TV" ... EndSection |
