Halo3 will be 1080p

Wow . . . . Halo 3 in 1080p . . . I'm excited! Looks like Westinghouse's stocks are going up over the next 6 months.

With proper coding, a game can look really good (even at 720p) but still have fluid performance. The 360 is only starting to show its potential, and the PS3 will be the same way.

I agree as well but we don't know how well the XBOX 360 is going to perform in 1080p. It could butcher it and yes, I would rather have 720p but if it's the other way around, then sure. Bring on da 1080p!!!

I was at work last night and was looking at the back of the NBA Live 07 box and guess what it said . . . . "1080ip". If you don't believe me, go by EBGames or a Blockbuster and take a look. I'll try to find a pic . . .

Sod that, not long bought a 32" LCD HDTV. No way i'm forking out for another one just to use 1080p lol sooner set 1280 by 1024 via the VGA connector and have the higher/fluent frame rates.

Yea, I really don't like the move to 1080p. You can't just "enable" 1080p. Sacrifices need to be made, alot more processing power is required for 1080p.

I think 720p with some extra visual goodness would be the better route.

Rendering a game at 1080p is going to take a lot more power than at 720p so that probably means they will have to scale back some on the graphics to accomodate this. Personally, I think having the game render at 1080p which will only cater to a small percentage of HDTV owners is a bad idea. Don't get me wrong, I will probably upgrade my 720p set to 1080p next year but this news just seems like an answer to Sony.
