Default Thick non-transparent borders

After updating to the BETA NVIDIA 9625 drivers, xorg-server-1.1 and latest git compiz from freedesktop.org everything seems to be working except one tiny annoyance.

Instead of having the nice drop-shadow around my apps, there is nothing but a thick black (or white depending on theme) border around the apps. All plugins and animations seem to work as expected. It's just this drop-shadow effect has stopped working. I've attached my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and other documentation to help troublshoot this issue.

Here is: `ls -lah /usr/lib/libGL*`
Code:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  653 Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGL.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   10 Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGL.so -> libGL.so.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   17 Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.0.9625
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 555K Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.9625
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   11 Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLU.so -> libGLU.so.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   20 Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 -> libGLU.so.1.3.060501
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root root 1.5M Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLU.so.1.3.060501
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   21 Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1 -> libGLcore.so.1.0.9625
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8.6M Sep 30 19:23 /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1.0.9625
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   11 Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLw.so -> libGLw.so.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root   15 Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLw.so.1 -> libGLw.so.1.0.0
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root root  35K Sep 30 00:51 /usr/lib/libGLw.so.1.0.0
Here is: ldd `which compiz`
Code:
  linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)

        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7f6c000)

Any suggestions on things I could try?
