Speaking of kiosk, when is M$, Gamestop, EB, whoever going to replace the 360 systems with a more updated demo disc? It's a little pathetic to keep it on one Kameo and old old videos from this time last year. I finally saw one X360 kiosk that had the demo of NBA Live 07 . . . maybe they are finally starting to change them out?

I believe that the Nintendo Wii will be the hot item this Christmas. One, it's from Nintendo (go figure) and two, where the controller is so different (you actually have to move around) that it is going to draw some major attention, especially when the Wii kiosks come in the stores. Parents and kids are going to see another kid jumping around and stuff, wondering what kind of game system it is. I swear, if I see a bunch of kids jumping around at Walmart and they are in my way, I'll be pissed!!!!!

Makes me wonder how many of the 100 million sales of PS2s were from defective units. I can't honestly believe than 100 million people/families own PS2s. Its probably more like 50.

The only reason your Gamecube collects dust is because you've been brainwashed by Sony.

An updated demo disc is said to be arriving the first week of November with CoD3, GoW among the others. This is only a widely circulated internet rumor, though.

Sony responds to the report of overheating PS3s at TGS...
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6159307...stnews;title;1

Quote:
"Despite the report from Macquarie Securities implying that they had heard of reports of PS3s needing to be rebooted at TGS, SCEI are not aware of any instances of this occurring at TGS, nor have we received any reports from third parties to such effect,"
Quote:
"On the Press Day on Friday, and throughout the weekend the PlayStation stand was inundated by specialist gaming media, the majority of whom would have noticed if there had been a general problem with console overheating...[The] PS3 does not suffer from an overheating problem."
The last statement is what caught me, Its true... there were ALOT of people at TGS and all major gaming news providers were there aswell yet the only ones who released any information about the PS3s having issue were "analysts". Im sure Gamespot, IGN or 1UP would have made a comment if they were in the presence of a PS3 that failed... Hell kotaku would have made the biggest noise about a PS3 overheating at the show if they actually saw it.

So now its a case of he said she said....

This was another false rumor already debunked.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6159307.html

Despite the report from Macquarie Securities implying that they had heard of reports of PS3s needing to be rebooted at TGS, SCEI are not aware of any instances of this occurring at TGS, nor have we received any reports from third parties to such effect," it proclaimed.

That said, Sony did concede, "The environmental conditions at TGS conspire to test any electrical item. In the case of PS3, the combination of pre-production software, running on pre-production debug units, enclosed in demonstration units without ventilation, and surrounded by so many eager fans that on Saturday and Sunday it was almost impossible to move, are bound to prove a challenge. If indeed, there was the occasional unit that needed rebooting, it was due solely to the adverse environmental conditions within the Hall and not to any more general problem with PS3."

However, there was no company's bottom line. "On the Press Day on Friday, and throughout the weekend the PlayStation stand was inundated by specialist gaming media, the majority of whom would have noticed if there had been a general problem with console overheating...[The] PS3 does not suffer from an overheating problem."

I've yet to see one legit gaming news site report any overheating. IGN, 1UP, Gamespot, and GTTV were all there for TGS week, they never encountered any such problems.
