I have tested all combintions of these 3 options, with no change in results.

I don't feel comfortable at this time to compile my own kernel. I can't afford to have a non-working OS if I do something wrong. The latest kernel I could find in the Ubuntu repositories is "2.6.17-10-generic", which forced me to upgrade GCC from 4.0 to 4.1 as well in order to compile the kernel module. This also had no effect.

I have attached a new bug report. This report was made on the 2.6.17-10-generic kernel, noapic and acpi=off kernel options enabled, and NvAGP "0" enabled. Thank you.

I believe cilaos mentioned in his first post that his motherboard is an ASUS P4C800.

Hello,

I always have the same problem. There is what would be the bios has to check? Does the video card have it to be blamed? However it run under WindowsXP. Without changing configuration, when I a FX5800LE that puts functions immediately. For me the problem comes from the drivers or the video card? Is this normal?

Patience, cilaos. In the meantime, just revert to 8762 until the problem can be resolved.

Hello. No news.

My configuration:

Asus P4C800-DELUXE with an AGP graphic port
PNY 6600GT AGP or PNY FX5800LE
all NVIDIA driver

when I use my 5800LE with the nvidia driver, the video card functions correctly. With the 6600GT that does not function. It detect a 6600Go PCI-E. WHY? My video chart is a agp. Is what an option exists so that it finds the card in agp. Thank you
