I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 that I use for presentations. It has an integrated 7800 Go adapter, and runs SUSE Linux.
No matter how I re-configure xorg.conf, I cannot get TwinView to work. If I start X with something plugged into the VGA adapter, I can use a projector, but I lose my local screen. If I boot with the VGA unplugged, I get no projector. Fn-F8 does not work. Is there something different in how Dell integrated the Nvidia adapter that makes it so that TwinView does not work correctly on the Inspiron? (Oddly, Dell support was totally unhelpful. Go figure.) I will provide my xorg.conf attempts on request. Thanks for any ideas on resolving this. --Ted Haeger http://reverendted.wordpress.com |

Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log while this problem is present.
Thanks, Lonni |

Mike:
Sorry, I have not been able to get the file for you. I have found a workaround for the issue. If I hit the screen switch combo during boot (before X starts), TwinView then works without any problem. If you are still interested in the log file, I would be happy to provide it. Thanks, --T |
