You can grab the repaint from Avsim - it's my favorite repaint for this model, and it look great with a nice blue sky, and sea.

I've just noticed Carenado have released the C U206G Stationair 6 II Regular, Amphibian and Cargo FSX as an FSX SP2 only model now, priced at $29.99.

Here's the new Orbx freeware airport, which has tons of detail, like grass curtains along edges, 3D curbs in the parking lot, etc.

Thanks for the heads up on Carenado SJA06. Sillyeagle I tried out that airport last night and have to say that it's very impressive what these guys are putting out regularly. Have you tried thier freeware A.I although I believe it only covers the Australian territory. Hoping to see some of it at FT Kai Tak and NZ but none showed up.

Wow more free stuff from Orbx - they really are a fantastic development team, they could charge for this stuff, and it would sell, but they chose to give it away...amazing.

Great shots slaWter and Silly.

It feels cold and lonely in here - is everyone on holiday?

Whoa nice dusk shots there SJA06 great colours i wish i could keep my genX that sharp!

Im still pretty busy with RL work and im guessing i will be for atleast the next 2 weeks or so

+ my FSX install is pretty messed up atm due to me ****ing around with pretty much everything to do with the water textures & some other freeware stuff stuff i was working on & it needed nuking soon anyhows & i might just reinstall vista while im at it

Hopefully AU green will be out by the time im back to simming....FTX is a blessing and a curse for me in FSX its a blessing because its pretty much looks & runs like FSX should have out the box....on the other hand its a curse because everytime i fly anywhere else i think it looks poor compared to FTX hehe

Laters

I can PM the full size 1650x1050 if that's any good to you?

Steve - I did the same a while back, when the new V2 GenX disks came out - my FSX install was groaning under the weight of ton of freeware crap, that I never used. Not to mention all the tweaking and fiddling I did. It certainly ran better afterwards, and I'm more selective about what goes in.

Wow nice sunsets! How does YMML perform for you? And what CPU clock you are you running at? I'm considering it just for novelty as I never really fly in that area, but I pretty much need 20fps or I won't be happy.

The next FTX freeware airport(Launceston, Taz) should be out in a day or so. This one will come with a config panel so you can choose between FSX native mode or photoreal mode. In photo mode they removed all the taxi lines from the photo texture and added the nice sharp ones.

I'm really looking forward to this one since it happens to be current favorite FTX area given the awesome landclass work around it.

I've been busy lately so haven't fired up FSX in while.

It certainly doesn't run like it does in that vid, that's for sure - I do struggle with it to be honest, getting between 10 and 20fps depending on where I'm looking. I think John has stated your doing well to get a consistent 24fps with all the options enabled, so I think it's fair to say you have to lower your performance expectations for this. One good thing is it doesn't seem to affect frame rate from a distance, like some add-on's, so the lod system works nicely, though you do see some 'building and texturing' as you approach.

You have a much more powerful system than me -my X2 is running at 2.6ghz- and with some experimenting I think you could get you desired 20fps.

It's a bit sad, but I really love just slewing round, watching to coming and going of the freeware AI - it does feel quite real.
