Hi.

Has anybody already compared FSX on Vista? What is real life speed gain (if any) due to new drivers. How is GF8800 working on Vista?

A few tried in this thread:

I personally would wait until the FSX SP1 is out or even until the DX10 patch.

Awesome shots as aways Sillyeagle. You have a knack for capping keepers. Ubi should hire you to get some Resident Evil 4 shots.

Thanks crainger!

Here's a bunch of free military aircraft add ons. These are made by proffesional developers, but released as freeware. Should work fine in FSX.

I am surprised most people haven't even heard of X-Plane ( http://www.x-plane.com )

here's some pics

It's OpenGL, and is shipped with prog dvd + 7(dual layer!!!) DVD's containing world scenery.
oh... its 20 times faster than FSX.

Hey guys, anyone with one of these uber mega rigs wanna set everything to maximum and take a screenshot over downtown Vancouver? Just wondering what my city will look like virtually in two years when I can afford to run this game. =P

Vancouver

On a single core Athlon I'm getting up to 20fps in the first three shots with the settings you see pictured. The others used untweaked maximum settings and have lower performance, around 6fps.

Thanks.
All I did was turn off light bloom, ground scenery shadows, and moved the water slider back to Low 2.x. With just those changes the frame rate double and almost tripled in some places. Flying around Vancouver I was seeing 12-20fps, and in the shots posted I was getting 19 and 20fps.

I have also done the cfg tweaks from the guide below, with the exception of the autogen density tweak in the cfg. I did not do either of the autogen tweaks in this guide as it reduces the variety of trees and buildings.

For my normal settings I mostly use the settings from this guide, and I get 18-27fps most of the time.

This is what my scenery page looks like with my normal gameplay settings with a screenshot below showing what thise settings look like.
