That REX lot are certainly dragging this release out

EDIT: or maybe not then - it seems FSS is woefully under equipped to deal with the demand and it's flaked-out with people just looking at it [as yet no release has been announced]- I have struggled with download speed with FSS with my last two purchases...I was only getting 50kb/sec when I bought the C-152 and that was off-peak.

I don't think I'll bother until things have calmed down a bit.

Yes, great postcard shots.

Another day another potential REX release - seems a hitch has delayed things again, so the wait continues. Still better that than a massive download that does not work for some I guess...disappointing none the less.

I think I lucked out and might have been the first to get it, cuz I haven't seen a single post indicating anybody else has it, but they might be too busy using it. So far I have not noticed a performance hit, though I have not done any heavy weather yet.

Hey there speedy, nice shots - I grabbed it this morning and much to my surprise managed a pretty decent 450kb/sec for the duration, so well done FSS.

My first flight was a bit of a disappointment visually, but there is a lot to play with, so that will change. I just went with the defaults and real world weather which was misty with few clouds, which the engine did to perfection. After a year with FEX I have honed my themes and my first run did not match it for quality, but this is not a fair comparison.

Running 4096 and everything else at max and it runs just as well as with FEX, so that's good.

Off to try some more.

Been fiddling on and off today and this is the first time I've been blown away by REX - the trouble with it is, there is almost too much choice, so it takes time to find what works for you. It was the same with FEX though, which has a twelve month head start and time to find those killer themes.

That looks fantastic. What's the weather engine like? Does it still render that awful solid haze layer like ASX does.Although to be fair to ASX, that haze presents itself using the default real time weather as well.
