How long has the X52 Pro been available? I got the X52 a while back but didn't even know they had a Pro version.

I use the Logitech extreme 3d pro now. It doesn't have ff like the ms sidewinder, but has spring-tension on the stick. Works pretty good for a fairly cheap js. I had worn out about 3 of the ms sw ff. Really liked them, ashame ms quit making them.

This weekend I installed Vista Home Premium and then rightaway FSX.

I started FSX without any cfg fixes because I wanted to see how it runs on clean config. And I was surprised to see how smoth it was. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but to me is noticable smoother and a bit faster then before on XP with fixes. Most of the time I have 30fps (20 in city) and no hickups.
It also look nicer somehow - but I'm sure that this IS my imagination

Perhaps Vista and FSX-SP1 and even DirectX10 SP, will indeed make this game more playable.

Most guys are saying FSX on Vista does not have the "micro stutters", as they call them. So basically its a lot smoother, though a lot of them are also saying the actually fps is slower, but even so they say its smoother over all.

Anyone know how to make the walkway go to the jet when you park at an airport? Are you even able too?

I just installed it for the first time on x64... I turned up all the eye candy quite a bit and it's stuttery. I think I'll have to turn down some of the options in the global profile to smooth it out (enable the optimizations and such). Doesn't appear to be multi-threading much, and I would have thought the 4GB would help too.

Not sure. You can ask on the avsim.com forum, thats where all the experts and developers hang out.

Turn off light bloom, ground scenery shadows, set water to low 2.x, and autogen to dense. That should allow you run everything else maxed out on that system.

SP1 comming out later this month is supposed to improve the multicore support, and give a 20% performance boost.

Here we are flying above the Himalayas, seconds before a tragic accident:

Still getting a few AA bugs with it maxed out, but your settings definitely have it running smoothly now. I wish my joystick would get here... no Newegg till Monday tho.
