You'll be amazed how good it performs compared to older systems.

Looks great Bearclaw, I'm especially attracted by the EVGA-X58. So, with that system you'll fire up FSX and youll come up with...here an example, with my new F-35...errr,...well,...yes, the screens are a bit edited, mostly tonemapping, glow, some motion blur simulated, resized from 1920x1200, ingame AA+AF, enbseries

Hey guys

Well im another one who just got a new system put together,in the end i kept it lower end due to lack of funds but i went for an i5 750+p7p55d & 4gb of Ocz (1600mhz @7,7,7,24) got her clocked upto 4.15ghz totally stable (love the Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B i got its freakin massive but does just what i says on the tin!)i still have a 260 gtx but im considering a 460 2GB 470+480 are out for me due to there power draw & heat might wait out till next gen im unsure as yet

im just setting up FSX but sofar my AU packages are pretty much locked to 45fps using the lastest tweaks all sliders (expect AC) right, some drops to the low 30's in urban areas but with the amount of autogen packed in there im not suprised

Starting to resurrect a few FSX projects id been working on before the **** hit the fan so hope to have some new HD stuff released in the not to distant future,im also considering starting my own HD donationware packages site but i need to page interest at a few FSX forums/sites first

Laters
steve

BTW love the lastest sets of shots, they make me want to start investing sometime in possible shader modding!

Anyone install the new REX Overdrive textures yet? I did but have not had time to take a good look at it yet. They have 9.9Gb of new textures. It's free for customers of REX.

Noticed they also have REX for X-Plane now. Probably not going to get that. I could never get the controls in X-Plane to work well for me.

musman,
I've been using REX since it came out. Downloaded REX Overdrive update first of this week. It just takes FSX to a new level in cloud/water/runway textures. Just superb. I didn't think REX could get much better, but it sure did. With REX and ORBX/FTX, well, it's taken flight simulation to a new and better experience. REX is very easy on fps's - in HD, it's 4096 texture, but you can go to the 1048 and it's still superb. NO, I am not a beta tester, just a happy camper.

Your not going to get any argument from me. I have been using if for a long time too. Not sure I would even want to use FSX without REX anymore.

Can someone please tell me what the essential and best value mods for this game are?
I'm upgrading my aging pc soon and I want to have everything ready. I have already got my traffic. Another irritating thing is there are too many go arounds at busy airports.
