I might have a couple tweaks but I don't know that they make any difference. Try pausing the game with default zoom and see if the textures load up any sharper after a minute or so. If they do load up sharper then you might be seeing the blurry issue. When I use SP1 the textures are always a "step" ort two behind when I fly, meaning if I pause I can see them "snap" one or two more times into sharper focus.

You can also the save the flight in mid air, then relaod the flight. When it loads up the textures will be as sharp as they are going to get. Then start flying and see if they fall behind when loading into a new area.

SP2 is supposed to fix the blurry issue, or so it seemed from one of Phil Taylors comments.

Keeping a fairly low limit on the frame rate will help a bit - I have mine locked to 25 along with a few tweaks I posted a page back and I suffer very little in the way of blurries. Sometimes the odd tile will take a long time to snap into full resolution but it is acceptable...this issue has certainly been made worse with SP1 so I hope SP2 will put it right.

What you fly has a major impact as well - obviously the faster you go the more chance there is that the scenery will struggle to keep up.

The wicked Shockwave P-40 Warhawk. Full FSX with totally awesome bump maps, one the the best VC's I have seen, and the most awe inspiring engine recording out there. Cranking it up as high as you can without distortion while slowly going from idle to full throttle is quite an experience. You can feel it unlike any other aircraft I have seen.

WOW that Warhawk looks mean - very nice Sillyeagle.

retsam the full version runs better than the demo - and with SP1 and a dual core it runs much/much better

Here's something more sedate - a Tiger in the Welsh Mountains.

As far as I know its the same. I don't think they did any performance work between the demo and RTM, but I have never compared the two at the demos location. All the performance work came in SP1 as far as I know. If you get poor performance make sure water is set to Low 2.x, bloom is off, and don't set autogen any higher than Dense. Turning all the traffic off makes a big difference too. Should be able to 20-30fps in most situations. SP1 gives a 20%-40% boost as well, and if you are using SP1 you can probably use Very Dense autogen.

How is that plane anyway? I'm guessing you like it quite a bit being thats the one you are always flying, but what do you think of it?

I like it a lot...it's a nice partner to photoscenery and VFR flying as it's slow and easy to fly, the sound has been captured quite nicely too and is highly evocative. I've had a thing for Tiger Moths since I was young and still think they're beautiful looking machines.

I got this on offer at half price through the Just Flight site on one of their special offer Mondays - at full price I think it is a bit expensive.

I think you are right about the demo, as there were two versions released - the second being more optimised...I went from version1 to RTM and saw quite a boost.

I don't think FSX makes much use of SLi and is almost totally bound by your CPU...with a resonable setup max water is not a problem - bloom however is a bit heavy on the frame rate regardless of hardware.
