Nice pictures. I have been contemplating purchasing FEX, but they want a pretty penny for it. More than most games.

BirdDog Pilot I'm not sure where you live, but in the uk it costs £22.70 to download from Flight1 [$44.95] which is not to bad I feel - but I guess it depends on the exchange rate where you live.
omzig I totally agree, the clouds are much better than ASX/G - which often look airbrushed. The best thing is the performance, even using the highest resolution textures, there seem to be little or no loss in frame rate. Superb... A few more - sunrise and sunset - these aren't subtle! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

WOW jaw dropping pics
Many thanks The lighting looks so much better that default FSX or ASX and its great news that theres no hit to FPS,i read on the FEX support board that a user had reported about a 15% increase with better image/effects use FEX than using the FSX default weather/clouds/water effects! I hope they hurry up and get around to packaging it in an offline installer or i might just have to brake my No web on the gaming PC rule! If you get chance any chance or a short fraps video or some shots over hawaii plz ![]() Cheers Gizmo |

OK guys, those pic have sold me. I've not bothered with FS since FS'98, but I think i'm ready to have a blast on 'X'!
I've not been reading anything about this game so could someone just give me a quick overview of what's available, there seems to be allsorts available for this game. I take it they are all ad-ons for MSFSX, but which are worth getting. Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Deluxe Edition Microsoft Flight Simulator X Microsoft Flight Simulator X For Pilots: Real World Training Flight Simulator X - Acceleration Expansion Pack VFR Real Scenery Vol 1: South East England The list goes on... Also what happened to DX10 on this game, I think I read they never patched and never will , is that true? |

Been looking around the avsim library and came across the David Ventura Chamudes Photorealistic Chile texture and mesh packages
Heres are a few shots i found online from texture pack s32w69_pack16 using the s32w69_pack1 mesh (38m) ![]() ![]() ![]() The whole set (theres 903 files in total!) covers quite a bit of chile ![]() The whole list of packs and there longitude and latitude can be found here http://walhalla.mine.nu/fsx/chile.html now one problem is that theres no info at all in the readme on airports to fly from & the only clue you have to the area a package covers is the longitude and latitude in the file name so id suggest a quick look at http://www.geonames.org/maps/google_...7_-69.267.html or http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm to help you plan your flights heres a few more shots (also not mine) from various areas covered by the packs ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The AVSIM ftp is pretty slow atm but as soon as i have some of the packages downloaded and installed i'll post a few of my own shots laters Gizmo |

See here for more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microso...ht_Simulator_X I'm not sure what you are asking as there are hundreds of add ons available, aircraft, scenery, etc, but non of them are needed to enjoy the game. I'd get the game and become familiar with it before you go spending another $100 on add ons. If you want start with something which is of much higher fidelity than the default aircraft the SF260 by RealAir Simulations is widely regarded to be the best add on aircraft you can buy, so if you want something thats very fun and sporty for touring and aerobatics this would be a good chioce. Its also excellent for training as its got the most acucrate flight model around. As to scenery there are a few types: Photo Scenery/VFR(visual flight recognition): Photo textures Scenery Mesh: More accurate elevation data Landclass: Data on where grass, forrest, desert textures are applied. Flight Enviornment: Higher resolution clouds with new water and sky textures. Other than that there is tons of info on what I feel are the best/coolest add ons I have found in this thread, as I pretty much share here the highlights I come across.

Ah, brill. That's exactly the info I wanted. Cheers.
Is there any info on how much DX10 will change the game. Oh, and is it setup to use SLI? Also, would it be better with a analogue joystick or would a 360 pad do the job? When i've had a blast and feel the need for some add-ons i'll have a skim through the thread, but for now you've saved me looking through 39 pages of posts, so thanks again ![]() |
