My cap mount uses a wire coat hanger and took about 20 mins to cut/bend to shape (all the info you need is in a PDF on the site)

If you use the LED version yes your gonna need to power them somehow, but the web cam i brought for 7 does Ir via 6 ir LED's on the camera base just like a trackir unit
so all i needed to do was build a head set using some refletive ir tape (which i had from my push bike kit)so no batteries needed for me

I did also build a quick LED headset just to test which tracked better and i powered the 4 LED's from 3 watch batteries so its not like that weights alot

Great for ppl who have'nt or dont want to splash for a trackir system

I own a trackir and head tracking is awesome in flight sims.

In FSX for example you can lean forward and zoom in close to a guage, or lean your head down and look at the wires under the dashboard.

You can do cool things like open the doors of an aircraft like a cub and lean your head out, then look up and down the side of your aircraft.

In combat sims it's invaluable, you almost never loose track of an opponent no matter what manuevers you perform.

I'm having problems with FSX. It keeps freezing during missions. The PC totally locks up and I have to press restart (which I hate doing). It seems to do it more if I configure my own flights. Less so in the tutorials. Any ideas?? My PC is Prime stable and the graphics cards are not OC'd.

Looks good. I'm thinking about geting FEX as well. I hear there are some downloadable themes and such.

Does it give the ability to pick and chose what gets modified? For example can you have it use the FEX clouds but not the water? And then can you switch back to defaults if you want?

If I can switch back to default textures when I want I will probably pick it up.

I plan on buying FEX myself, but what I'm really looking forward to is Flight Terrain X.

FSX could seriously benefit from some nice ground textures. The FEX/FTX combo will look incredible.

I'll grab some screen shots of the menus ect ect & hopefully i can answer your questions once i've had chance to check things out in a bit more detail

Try poping over to the FEX support forums the dev's are on hand and are very responsive to questions from owners or prospective buyers

Don't know if anyone cares but it turned out to be an IRQ problem with me increasing the RAM. Took out the 2 gig I had installed and it's fine now. Gonna leave it out until I can afford to upgrade to Vista 64bit, it should be fine then.
