A few more from FEX while i play about with it

Over all i think FEX still feels a little freash out of beta but i know the dev's are working very hard on bug fixing and features and if you think it looks good

in screen grabs it looks X10 better ingame/motion

if i can find a good host and i get the time i'll try and grab an ingame movie for you guys to checkout

And yes i agree Lith1um Flight Terrain X looks like it will do for FSX'es ground textures what FEX has done for its skies if its only half as good as FEX it just made my shopping list!

One another note i just scored a sweet deal with a bud of mine who just decided to Can FSX and just go back to FS9....i just traded him a few xbox360 games(halo3,bluedragon,darkness) for a whole host of FSX addons (UTX,fsgenesis,MSX Vancouver/aspen and a ton more)+ his X45 throttle/joy set (hes going x52 pro) gonna have a fun few days installing and tweaking stuff

I've finished to basic tutorials now. This game has taken over my computing life. I can't get enough, especially as my system's running good again.

I quite enjoy the heli's too. I have a little RC heli so it's good practice. Oh, that reminds me, is there any way to view from a fixed location on the ground?

Awesome Deal.

Here's a thread regarding UTX's performance impact.

Also UTX 1.2 patch was released the other day.

Rev's you could try flying from Tower view. Right click on the fsx sky for the context menu.

This plane rocks. It's about the only thing I have flown lately other than the SF260. It sounds even better than it looks, and easily has the best engine sounds of anything I have seen.

This is the payware Vancouver+ scenery, which covers 30,000 square kilometers in this kind of detail.

Here's one showing a small part of the coverage area, about 25%. Vancouver is at the bottom.

Avsim.com, but you'll have to register there too.

You'll have to register pretty much anywhere it seems.

Damn I wish I could get this game to play at reasonable framerates. I actually built my machine ground up for this game, but still can't play it at anything higher than medium details with all AI traffic turned off, water set to 2.x low, and bloom disabled. Crazy thing is everything else I own runs smooth as silk, and my machine benches well above similar systems using applications like 3DMark / Superpi. Flight Simulator X, however, just runs like a turd with me only getting about 14-17 FPS in most areas with the ingame AA enabled at 1920x1200. Would getting a faster processor let me turn on some of the eye candy?
