Great shots sillyeagle its just what im seeing in FSX RMT SP1 & SP2,Although i have to say that in SP2 hires tiles jump in a lot faster than in SP1 but still way to close for my liking,i dout this is going to get fixed unless NV can pull something out of there hats for us because from what im reading over at AVsim PT and the boys have now pretty much abandoned FSX so what ever SP2 breaks or doesnt fix for the masses once the free downloads out ther door thats it no more fixes or updates......

SP2 is a mixed bag for me atm I have seen a slight boost to FPS at like for like SP1 settings & as i said above blurries are reduced but not gone I also have the mouse/menu access problem where using the UI fullscreen in flight cause's a hard lockup Aces say this is an NV problem but they dont have any ETA for a fix (this might have been avoided if Aces had'nt just dev'ed on pre 16x.xx driver sets)

P-51D is nice in the air but forget trying to taxi with it as it just refuses to stear at normal taxi speeds

F18 Is cool but far to fast for the Engine to handle and everything just becomes a blurry mess once you crank it up...also no manual WFT??

EH-101 is nice and i like the missions its used in

Over all worth the 17.99 i payed for it

I have'nt tryed the DX10 content as i just refuse to reinstall Vista but from what ive read it really is'nt anything to shout about

Yeah I've got it locked at 21. The engine is supposed to use the extra cpu cycles to load terrain.

Is there any app the can show GPU utilization percentage in the same manner that task manager shows cpu utilization?

I remember some of the cuda drivers did it, but can't remember anything else right now.

I want to see just how much my GTX is being utilized in FSX with diff combinations of AA/AF.

Right now I'm running 4x ss transparency AA and 16x AF. I wonder if it's worth trying 8xQ or using enhancer to try full bore super sampling AA.

With an 8800GTX you can set AA as high as you want, even 16xQ, and still be CPU bound. The only way I have been GPU bound is when using 1600x1200 with settings above 4xS Supersampling.

Just get nHancer and start using 4xS Supersampling, thats the best choice for an 8800GTX. Much much better than 16xQ.

Well.... I finally got my SP1/SP2 blurries fixed!!!

The first step was to change systems, as it seems the main issue I was having did not carry over, and I no longer flew over a blurry mess.

Even with the dual core texture loading was still not what it was in the RTM version on a single core, so step two was a few cfg tweaks. I set a 10MB buffer pool, set texture bandwidth multiplier to 45, and set fiber frame fraction time to .40, with a frame rate lock of 25 or 27.

Now I have crisp textures nearly 100% of the time, even when flying the F-18 around in low speed manouvers. The only problem I see now it an occasional glitch where all the textures unload when changing views.

I'm actually quite amazed at well FSX-SP2 performs on my new rig. I can pan around the plane in spot view and its 100% smooth, with not a single stutter. My framerate stays locked at 27fps nearly all the time, with occasional drops to 23.

Here I am cruising around, and as you can see the textures look awesome. I'm able to max all the scenery sliders, with high 2.x water, and very dense autogen, while holding a constant 27fps over the european scenery see below the P-51.

This is the fall lineup for AMD/ATI, called the Spider platform. AMD/ATI wouldn't tell us the real name for the RV670 GPU but we will find that out real soon now.

They mentioned prices were something like $400US for the quad CPU, $200US for each GPU, and $150US for the 4-slot mobo. Not bad at all considering the heat and power is much better too.

I know people whom will pay whatever amount of money to get this FSX running smoothly on their rigs. if that setup can run the game at its max smoothly that will surely turn out to be great news!

Very impressed with SP2 and Acceleration - there was no way I could fly at 500kts plus [as in the sceenshot] and maintain decent terrain, but now I can. I still get patches that don't resolve but it's still a tranformation.

I'm using a Fibre Frame fraction of .49 a Bufferpool of 10000000 and a mipbias of 8 and get nice sharp scenery, this is also using 16xAF & AA.

I love the new aircraft, even the Westland and I'm not a chopper fan.
