If anybody has FS9 aircraft that they use in FSX-SP2, there is an issue with VC visibility when its raining. Here is a nice utility that fixes this issue.

Quote:
If you have been paying attention to any of the recent threads you are probably aware that SP2 has broken FS9 SDK created aircraft with respect to visibility out of the windscreen in the VC when it is raining. It will render the windscreen a solid blue \ turquoise color.

I believe we have a remedy in the form of a utility that we have created. When you run it, it will replace the affected FSX textures with new ones (No, not the FS9 ones, they are our own) and it will back up your existing FSX textures. Restoring those textures is as easy as clicking on the "restore" button.

It appears to restore visibility to FS9 > FSX aircraft and does not appear to harm the FSX SDK created aircraft in any way.

You may use it, upload it, include it, whatever... but all we ask is that you give us credit.

Now get back to flying your favorites again in FSX.

Here's a neat video comparing FSX to real life.

I might grab it too. I thought Oahu was cheap at $15, and this one appears to give three times the coverage.

You will be able to play it, although on lower settings than most people do on here.

I have a AMD 64 2Ghz, 2GB of ram, and a 7600 and I can run everything on medium and average 22-25 FPS. Additionally, SP1 and SP2 really help.

Yes it does look more than a little uninspiring - I have the full UK scenery, but there are parts that I never bother with as it's so flat and dull. I do like a bit of drama myself as well.

Getting BSOD's after a few minutes of flight lately... not sure if it's the 169.25's... maybe FSX doesn't like my CPU OC. Not having problems with anything else. SP2.

Got any other addons in there that might be upsetting things?

I've Been reading over at Avsim & other FS forums that a whole host of 3rd party addons are having problems with SP2,I myself i had to kill FSdiscover because it was causing CTD but i hear a patch is in the works

im running 169.25 on vista x64 with 4GIG ram 8800gts (640mb)and sofar no problems with CTD (once FSD was out the way) & my E6400 is OC'ed to 2.98ghz (from its stock 2.13ghz)

I do wish Nv would get there fingers out and fix the z-clipping on runway textures the flashing on and off of night lights and the menu hanging issues (i had it in XP but on in vista) Aces have dropped FSX now so I hope NV can address all the above problems ASAP because i dout they'll get fixed any other way....
