GEXe 1.06 is up ready for download

Quote:
All users are urged to install this update. It corrects a bug located in winter textures and will also upgrade winter in all areas of North America. This patch contains a fix for UTX USA which will restore the RAIL YARD pad should you wish to use that feature.

This update requires GEX Enhanced v1.04 or v1.05. It will update either to 1.06.

After fully updating to GEXn v1.06, please run the interface, select all the options and reinstall the textures. NOTE: if you do not use UTX you may leave the UTX options unchecked in the interface.

Be aware it is always recommended the user run the defrag solution of their choice after any major texture or scenery installations.

Bad news on all the 17x.xx i tryed in fsx as typical with 99% of NV's drivers (beta or not)they fix one thing but break another...fixed lights but now i get a "Nvlddmkm Stopped Responding" error after about 15 mins of flight.....jump back to 169.xx and i get broken lights but no Nvlddmkm errors

Im ****ing sick to the back teeth of Nv's ****ty driver support for FSX i guess if they spent 1/10 of the time on FSX than they do ****ing around with crysis,FSX would be gfx error free but no FSX doesnt win them any E'penius points

Time to head back to ATI i think....

I keep trying different 170 XP drivers, but keep coming back to 169.69 quadro drivers, which seem perfect to me...all 170's have problems and not just in FSX...the worst being a constant jumping, which I get in a number of D3D games. FSX seem to suffer lots of CDT's with later drivers, which gets maddening. I'm just hoping the problems with the most recent forcerwares is down to the fact they were only meant for the 9 series cards, and had to be modded to work on all cards.

Is the grass really greener on the other [ATI] side I wonder?

On a lighter note all these wonderful shots of AU Blue has caused my wallet to be relived of some more money -I blame Sillyeagle mostly

Well worth the 14 - quite a bargain in fact...stunning scenery, and wow, those lights.

Any of you fly the "Vomit Comit" mission yet?

I kept putting it off, never really even looked at it. It just didn't seem that interesting.

For some strange reason I decided to get that mission out of the way and I was suprised to find out it's actualy pretty cool. The high performance climb in the beginning looked great with trackir. Heading down the runway at 330knts, pull up into a 60' climb and head for the sky like a homesick angel. Kind of like Eagle's shots of the 747.

Edit:

1.06 for GEX is out now.

You FTX guys. I was reading a thread that said something about turning of FTX when flying outside it's area, or when patching other addons. It seems FTX replaces some of the main autogen files when it's turned on. Something to consider if you didn't read the manual.

Looking out the side window during that 60deg climb is crazy. The rate of climb is rediculous on that bird.

Check the FSinsider inside FSX's gui, there is a nice freeware airport recommended by the dev's. It's located in Greece I think. Cool, I just bought UTX EU.

Oh, the latest xfi driver fixed the crashes I had with C130X sp1. I'm happy about that. The driver is supposed to fix 4gb issues.

Both of these are fsx default aircraft. Look pretty good imo.

does FSX need or take use of 4gb of ram? Does it use more than 2gb of ram in 32bit windows?
