Does that mean we can, for example, buy a hard drive and be able to purchase an OEM copy of Vista at online retailers (in Nov. that is)?

I wouldn't see why you couldn't, actually.

I never thought of that. I just might get Vista early.

I just noticed that the second chip on the G80 boards has the same mounting that the voltage regulator for the 7900gtx.

That means that this lil waterblock will fit:

I know in the past some online retailers would do that. You basically had to buy some piece of hardware to get the OEM software. Some would just buy the cheapest mouse they could find. So anyway, I'm hoping that will be the case for Vista also. It would be nice to get it early.

Yea as a reseller they cannot do that. If MS finds out they could get in trouble.

Well, I want to get a new keyboard and a new mouse. So, that'd be a perfect time to pick up a copy of Vista aswell!

If you read the specs, the gtx has almost 50% more fillrate then the gts.
That doesnt make any sense, i thought the only difference between the two was lower clocks, unless they disabled some pipes?

I'm getting the impression that I'm going to end up buying two 8800GTSs. I'm just interested in how the 8800GTS will perform compared to the 8800GTX. I hope their isn't too huge a difference.

I must have checked the wrong link (PNY) yesterday since I didn't see the specs listed. I'm surprised they can list them so early.

I've always been under the impression that if you purchase an OEM copy of an OS, you have to get hardware witht that purchase aswell. Now, I know Newegg sells XP Pro64 without you needing to purchase any hardware, but how they can do it legally is beyond me.
