So we won't see any DX10 performance figures at all until vista arrives. So many of us will be buying blind and hoping that nvidia have got their dx10 stuff sorted?

I wouldn't worry about that bro. 8800's will run fine on XP/DX9, and I'm sure NVIDIA has a handle on Vista and DX10 as well.

I'm a bit worried due to the HDD cage. have the dimensions of the GTX card been released yet? If so I could jsut measure my case space....

The GTX is close to 11 inches long. I measured my case, and it is going to butt right up against the lower HDD cage with less than 1/2 inch to spare.
It will be an extremely tight fit, and all the HDDs will have to be moved to the bottom.

Hope that helps a little...

Thanks man. I'll measure mine and to be sure. I'll be cutting a piece out of my HDD cage if it doesn't fit. lol

I've never owned a dual slot card, so I am wondering if they blow the heat out the back of the case or does it work in another way?

Yes (out the back), although, with the 7950s that wasn't the case but they're a special case.

So that should theoretically reduce case temps over a single slot card then right? Plus I assume it should act as another exaust fan and increase the case flow.

"Quantum Physics Engine" defined

Quantum Physics Engine : <kwahn-tum fiz-ziks ehn-jin>: pronoun 1. What comes out when marketing *****s without any technical background whatsoever are asked to create a name for a technology that provides advanced processing of Newtonian physics. 2. Canon fodder for DailyTech forumites.

Marketing gurus have opted for retail boxes to be high gloss with pictures of Manga styled Scientists with go-faster stripes, wind in hair, and out-popping eyes. The batman edition shows speech bubbles " Whoosh " and " Zoom " and " Ker-fastest "
The "Ker-fastest" is just gold!

Yeah.

BTW, the XFX Extreme version specs are now listed at ExcaliburPC. Edit: Looking at the other specs, looks like BFG is still clocked higher though.
