The specs on the 8800GTX are somewhere in the vicinity of 225W power-draw(75W to each PCI-E connector, 75W through the PCI-E mobo slot). That is around twice the power-draw of the 7900GTX, and if you increase the amps at the same rate you are looking at anywhere from 15-18A for the 8800GTX.
My PSU is a Thermaltake PurePower 680W W0049, Tri-Rail,
+5V -> 50A
+3.3V -> 28A
+12V1 -> 15A
+12V2 -> 15A
+12V3 -> 8A
Will it be enough for a single 8800GTX ?

I'll be using 3 hard drives, 1 dvd-writer, 3x120mm fans, and the pump for the cpu watercooling.
Would you guys advise powering the single 8800GTX with:
(PCI-Ex1 + PCI-Ex2), or (PCI-Ex1 + Two molexes to y-adapter), or (Two molexes to y-adapter + Two molexes to y-adapter) ?
The power connectors PCI-Ex1, PCI-Ex2 come from wich rails ? +12V2? +12V3? Both?

Thanks.

We need percentage numbers not "20-30fps more" .. the number of fps changes for each game.

other info are quite what i expected/heard of.

You're powersupply will be more than enought to power a single 8800GTX. Heck, I bet you could run 2 in SLI...

I'd use the PCIe connectors to power the card...they're more than likely on different +12V rails (probably 2 + 3?) so I say that would be fine.

lmfao, it only performs 20-30fps more than our 7900gtx which achieved 24fps on average, obviously performing terribly in this app. <3 people that don't know how to review, always good for a chuckle

Unless you typed the wrong model #, your specs are off. These are the specs from Thermaltake's site for the W0049:

Quote:
~~~~~+5V +3.3V+12V1 +12V2 +12V3 -12V +5VSB
Max. Load 30A 28A 14A 23A 15A 0.5A 2.5A
Min. Load 0.5A 0.8A 1A 1A 1A 0.0A 0.1A
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc...0049/w0049.asp
So you have a total of 52A on the 12v rail. If you plug in both PCI-E connectors into the GTX, you should be okay I would think.
You might want to contact Thermaltake and ask them what the 12v rail distribution is on that power-supply, and which rail runs off what PCI-E connectors.
Should I have to go SLI, my PSU should get the job done. It's got a 60 amp 12v line, and making the worst case assumption that a single GTX draws 225w, that's only 18.75 amp per card (37.5 for the pair). But I also have 2 optical drives, 2 HDs, and five case fans running on 12v as well, so it might be close.
So what PSUs are absolutely guaranteed to run 2 GTX's?
