Shield bash can be handy in close quarters also since it has a similar effect to a kick, but doesn't use up stamina like kicks do. Also always try to circle them as much as possible. If they can't face you head on they can't poison you.

I run around them, I circle them by pressed "A" and while I circle them I used the power attack which "A" gives. The spiders will try to follow you but if you keep circling it has the affect of getting them into a big group in the center then just keep going around doing "A" power attack until they are gone. They can't poison you if you do it that way.

To defeat spiders I just used my flame sword, usually a power swipe or two would kill them.

I think I'm nearing the end, but I had a quick read of the Gamespot guide and there is SO much stuff I have missed, and I though I was being pretty thorough. Can't wait to replay.

Man I really like this game. I bought it and then didn't even open the package for two days thinking I might just return it, doubting that it would be any good, and since i bought FEAR expansion the same day. I'm sure glad I decided to install it, because now I'm hooked.

I tried playing extraction point since starting Dark Messiah and it seemed lame in comparison, no sense of adventure or purpose, just maps with guys to shoot. I played for 10 minutes and went back for some sword play. Dark Messiah on the other hand is unique, artistically amazing, quite an adventure, gives a good sense of purpose in so far as being able to create and become a powerfully unique killing machine, plus there are skills and tactics to master.

It was quite challenging at first to work all the different attack moves together into a cohesive play of skill. It even seemed difficult at times but now that I have honed my swordmanship skills the game is much more fun.

There is much more strategy and skill in melee combat, as you get instantaneous feedback, which is not present when mowing down guys across the room.

I simply love the art in this game. It always blows my mind how these developers can land such artistic genius, and how the artists can grasp and put into visual form the mystical and esoteric side of life. Along those lines I am also impressed with the mystical and esoteric aspects of the game. I have studied a lot in those areas, and the developers have given quite an accurate representation. Though myth and fantasy to most I have seen that even some of the techniques that the mages in the game use are well known techniques in the esoteric circles.

Graphically it is certainly one of the top games out there, at least in my eye, which has largly to do with the amazing artwork. I'm continually awed by the beauty of the scenes and settings in the game. The graphics in this game, especially the amazing textures and lighting, really pull me in, and make me feel the sense of adventure and exploration.

Unlike in Oblivion the entire world feels unique, and it not the same stuff repeated over and over. I spend a lot of time just gazing at the textures, images and artwork. One thing I like about a game this beautiful is that its a showcase of artistic talent, and you can view the artists work in such a dynamic and engaging way. In Oblivion, once you have seen the inside of a cave and a temple, you know what the insides of all of them look like, even if the floors are shaped different, if you know what I mean.

So far I love it, can't wait to see what I encounter next!
