One thing that is kind of weird about the blue objects is that it happens on some objects that don't really have any purpose. I've seen some fallen statues laying around that turn blue some times. I can push them around but I don't think they break, and they are too big to pick up or use for anything. I don't know why they are highlighted.
Tried using The kinetic spell on them?

You can make it before the spiders actually... just need the correct items.

Before the spiders?

I didn't find the forge until quite a while after my first big spider encounter.

To be honest, I have no idea where I found the metal and gold bars I used to make weapons. I just knew I had to look for a forge somewhere.

"Smithing" the weapons was simple but a very nice touch. So many of these things were in Arx... I really have to replay that game.

So if I liked Arx Fatalis I will like this game? I played the demo but I wasn't able to crank up the detail on my current rig.

Actually, I do. That is why I took a screenshot of it to make sure that is what CaptNKILL was referring to. If that is the discoloration he was referring to, I would then have informed him that it is discolored merely to point out that you can "do something" with it- i.e. in that screenshot of mine you can "remove" those boards to cause the pillar to fall which then fuctions as a bridge/ramp to allow you to get to where you needed to be.

This game runs extremely smooth on my two 8800GTS's. And this is all with a s754 3400 at stock speeds (2.4GHz). I cannot wait to get it running on my rig with a 3700 that I have clocked at 3GHz! That'll rock like there's no tomorrow!

Okay, I have a few of those bars. How do I forge the sword now? I have the gold bar, and the silver bar (I believe)- I'll double check to be certain.

You might. Some things have a similar feel but overall the game is very different. Arx is a much more free roaming RPG type game... Dark Messiah is really just a different take on first person shooters. The RPG elements and story are very very light and the game is very linear, where as Arx was chock full of quests, NPCs interaction and exploration and the RPG elements were essential to the gameplay.

The overall feeling of Arx is there though, mostly because of the art and sound effects. The personality of the Goblins, the alertness\intuition ability and the weapon forge are definitely throw-backs to Arx. I think the main characters in both games might have the same voice actor as well.

I actually prefer the voice work in Arx though. It was more rough and sounded more believable, despite being a bit amateurish.

I will admit that sometimes Source games don't look so hot to me at times but the screenshots I see for this game look really good.

This was a great game but way way way way toooo short. As soon as I started really liking it it was over. Played it twice, it's not fun anymore. Online sucks too, mages are too powerful and there is too much unbalanced stuff in it. A guy with just a sword doesn't stand a chance unless he has buddies with him/protecting him. Have 2 sword guys and a Mage and they can rule the server all the time.

There is only so many times you can play the SP and then it's just time to move on.

If this game was 2x longer it would have been fantastic. After playing it twice, outside of graphics 6.5/10. Content = not enough, puzzles = child skill level. My favorite creature, the spiders. They were done really well and added challenge. Kicking made this game just way too easy. If there was stats, I would have kicked at least 200 enemy to their death. lol.

It's a good comeback to the series but if they want to make it really worth it, they will need to build up a bigger story, more locations and more play time.

Uh... ok, spoilers ahead so only highlight this if you have beaten the game

Alright, I just "died" and was resurrected... but now the game freezes every time I try to pick anything up and I cant access my skills or inventory. What the hell is going on? I know I can do the demon form thing... but come on, is the rest of the game like this now? No spells, items, skills or weapons (except for the last one I had in my hand)? I was seriously just getting into it, I figured it was maybe half over... if this is almost the end, thats a bunch of crap...

Please dont quote this entire post, the hidden text will show up in the quote.

By the way, has anyone figured out how to get rid of the fog on 8800 cards? Its really annoying. In some scenes its extremely obvious that the fog isnt supposed to be there.

That will fix itself Cap, you just have to find your bag again and you'll be back in business so don't freak out.
