Default Cg support on linux

i got the Cg toolkit and am trying to run some code that works on my same card on windows, with the same Cg toolkit version on windows

but on linux it tells me when i try to compile the cg files:
error C3004: function "tex2D" not supported in this profile

.. what does this mean? and how do i fix it
