YES! I just ran to Best Buy over lunch and they had a full shelf of the DVD-ROM version. w00t! With my coupon and certificates, it brought the price down to $35, son!

Sadly, no LEs were in stock, but oh well. The important thing is that I got the game! I can't wait to get home from work and play!

Ya I was instantly happy when it loaded up and there was a patch, however the download was really slow and then when I got into the game, it's really sluggish. I also hope they fix this up.. Wont stop me from playing but it would be nice to rid the game of the immense eye strain I seem to be getting.

SO then you can create your own profile with the FEAR compatbility bits too? (or does that not work)

I also forced AA to 4x...not sure if its working but it looks smooth..so i willl keep it.

Also Soft Shadows 0..i really dont see the point of this to 1 in a RPG at high angle range. But yea..if u made a profile ure self..its not gonna be smooth..its defeantly a driver thing and dam it is so smooth now.

I am talking butter smooth..max settings.

I can't believe people are saying that game doesn't look all that great...every shot I see, I find it more and more beautiful!

It looks alright..certainly dosent justify the performance hit..its kinda like Vampire Blood lines..at that time the game looked nice..but it had really bad perfermance compared to HL2..same engine..bad coding..samething here..it should get better with tweaks/drivers..till then ill try my best to enjoy the game

I hear the new nvidia drivers out may help this game out a bit performance wise. I'm going to snag them and see if I notice a difference or not since I have some time to waste today.

Oh it is very pretty. They did a great job. I am running the 96 drivers and it's got the problem most talk about including the lousy refresh rate. I had changed it in the ini file as well, initially I thought it fixed it, but I don't believe it does anything.

Think I will try a custom config as well.
