these?

Never played NWN before, does this game have a first-person view like Oblivion? And what's up with the subtitles, is there no spoken dialog? Those shots don't look impressive like Oblivion, how can it possibly be so demanding?

1) there is no first person view, its an real RPG.

2) most of the main dialog is spoken (plus subtitles) some of the less important comunication is not spoken. Reasons, not everyone can hear, thats why there are subtitles. also in NWN1 and NWN2, there is more story, text, dialog, then you can image.

3) it looks better in action, doesn't match Oblivion in graphics, but beats oblivion in every other category.

OUCH! I wonder if Magus has noticed this lack of AA/HDR in his beta-testing at all.

As a side note, what's your specs and is the game running at least decent (>25FPS) for you personally?

Considering your resolution that sounds pretty alright with me

To me i think Bloom/AA looks better..even in oblivion..one reason was that AA really made a big deal for me when i was outside and trees were arround..HDR/AA is not something GF7 can do..so that kinda sux..also some stuff..with HDR..seems like an overkill..i cant wait to get hold of NWN2 but sadly AUS release is pretty slow with games :/

Well the problem, at least from what I have read, appears to be you cannot get any Anti-Aliasing whatsoever with the current build of NWN2 - be it with Bloom on or off. Forcing it from the control panel does nothing.

Of course you cannot get AA with HDR on (on nvidias at least), but there seems to be no HDR either in the game so that's a moot point really.

yeah, there is no way to currently enable AA.

there are settings for HDR in ini file, but currently does nothing.

specs

4400 x2 @ 2.65ghz
2gb ddr500 OCZ Gold
Abit A8N-SLI Premium
EVGA 7950gx2
Audigy 2
rest is not important

HDR or not, i'm enjoying the game so far

btw
anyone think they will bring Airbeth (sp?) in somehow?

NWN combat is nothing like FF combat. Final Fantasy got one of most f-ed up combat systems ever.

do you know what D&D is? is stated out quite a long time ago as a board game with dice. First RPG ever in a sence, which later was moved to PC.

game is turn-based in a way, but it doesn't require you to pause or wait for oponnent to make a move.

all turns take take place in real time, there is a build in dice system, but you just don't see it.

so unless you know about the under hood mechanics, its not a turn-based.

In response to nekrosoft:

LOL sure you must be enjoying the game with that beast of a system

either way I don't give a flying one about HDR as I hate it, but this lack of AA feels like a low blow from the devs doesn't it?

Well it is Obsidian, so I’m not surprised, Obsidian f-ed up KOTOR2s ending.

ATARI is in huge financial problems, they probably rushed the game, didn't noticed any big issues yet, just the lack of HDR and AA.

If it was rushed, hopefully we will be getting good amount of patches.

but let me repeat, I had more fun in 1-2 hours of NWN, then I had playing Oblivions pathetic 8 hour story (just to clarify around 40 minutes of actual story, rest fighting and closing ****ing gates)

really enjoying the game!

Well..if u read one of the replys to that thread that was linked to the NWN site..it says AA works fine..you just have to pick it in the gfx options menu..

Has anyone tried forcing AA through the Nvidia CP?

Hmm..i cant be sure since i dont have the game still..but thats what they say..

You..are not trying AA+HDR right? I Assume this mode wont work on Nvidia G7 cards...maybe need to disable HDR first..reload the game pick bloom..run it again?..

In the mean time i am reloading NWN1 to kill time for Nov 16 release for AUS
