Lightbulb BenQ FP231W 1920x1200 Solution (Linux-x86-1.0-9625)

Hi @all,

after long time of using my display in Analog (D-Sub) mode, I found a solution to get it work at 1920x1200 with DVI-D and my single-link Geforce 6800 GT (AGP).

this is what I have done.

Xorg.conf

Quote:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "BenQ FP231W"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 30-81
VertRefresh 50-76
Option "ModeValidation" "NoMaxPClkCheck"
Modeline "1920x1200" 154.0 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 +Hsync -Vsync
EndSection
I used this Modeline (Not really needed) which I found on the Inet and used this option which I found in the readme of the Beta driver (Linux-x86-1.0-9625) (Option "ModeValidation" "NoMaxPClkCheck").

Note I have tested this without any Modeline and it worked too. I Think in different cases you have to use one or not, this is a think you have to try.

So I couldn't believe it as I restartet GDM an had the full resolution of 1920x1200.

at least a little info of my Xorg.0.log

I hope this will help someone.

But don't forget everything you do is on your own RISK
