Hmm, must be some bug in the 2.6.8.x kernel then or something.. I've used that string with systems that have an AGP bus, to turn off the agpgart driver, so that I could use the Nvidia driver instead. At the moment I'm using a 2.6.17.x kernel, and appgart isn't loading on this system, as it doesn't have an agp bus, only pci-e. Well, I'm out of ideas at the moment..

I just installed the new driver. Version 1.0-9629. It didn't fix my problem. I think it made things worse.

I use "Planet Penguin Racer" as a test. Under the older driver it would run. After a few minutes it would lock up. Even in the beta driver I could get the game to run. With the new driver it doesn't run. I get a black screen and then X restarts.

What's going on with the nvidia drivers? are they testing them or do they just put them out there for end users to tell them it's broken?
