Default Beta Pure Video Question

Guys I'm pretty new but tonight I installed the beta 9625 drivers on my 6200 card and they seem to be working correctly, but it was my understanding that the Purevideo functionality was going to be a part of this release.

I tried opening up an MPG2 stream coming off my Avermedia A180 and my CPU utilization is still up around 100% on my P4 3200 so I was wondering if there is somewhere that I can go to be sure Pure Video should be working on this stream?

I checked all through the NVidia X Server Settings app, but don't really see any Pure Video specific info.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thx.

JD

The NVIDIA X driver doesn't currently include PureVideo.

They don't?

Then the link on the main page is kinda misleading

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

right there it says

"BETA Drivers (now includes support for PureVideo HD Technology)"

I guess i didn't even think that meant only for that Windows based section

XvMC will happily play mpeg2s in hardware. It may not be all of pure-video but that part of hardware access works well.

You'll need to use xine that does XvMC or compile mplayer to work with it.

1920x1080 18000 kbps .ts streams at about 35% with one of my 2.4G cores on my Opty 165. 90% without.

Excellent, thx for the tip, I'll give that a try to night and see if it takes care of the issue.
