Maybe I have a problem with HDR, but in the beginning of the level the HDR +AA worked.

It differs per situation in the game i guess.

I played it on my X1900XTX via DVI to a Samsung 970P @ 1280 x 1024 native res & AF @ Max, before i switched to the XB360 version. Mind you, i'm playing it via a PAL RGB Scart cable at PAL60 settings so that's the best to be had on a normal PAL60 TV.

In some cases the AF in the PC version does shine. In other cases ; for example the electricity cabin in the very first level (where that one guard is sleeping) : I could really see that the textures of the machinery inside the cabin, was a downscale of my Xbox360 version.

Furthermore, some sections in the PC version ; in some places i notice some very thin cracks where textures don't allign so great. Maybe the vertex blending is buggy on PC version ( blending coordinates of vertices to blend the textures of each polygon for a smooth seamless effect ).

But i guess there are so many factors ; each person picks the version which emphasises a certain visual aspect.

Is there a way to fix this problem? I'm using the 97.02 drivers.

Thomas, make a shortcut to the Splintercell4.exe in the system dir and add "-ll" to the Target line in the shortcut. You´ll be able to start the game, but be prepared to some of the worst EVER visual artifacts which basically make the game unplayable for 8800 owners.

I can´t wait for fixed drivers/patch because I´m sure the game is pretty good.

xbox version has extra wax effects, i think they just need to put a patch out to get it to look like the xbox, isn’t it?

personally in those shots i cant, with my untrained eye, see big differences in quality besides the "wax effect" as someone labeled it, and it looks like the xbox version is using HDR whereas the pc one wasnt. what i do find disturbing is how the xbox version runs at (i assume) ~30 fps while a pc equipped with a comparable gpu runs at half that. it shows how poor of a port job they did. sli wont even work for me, what a joke.

Not sure. I have a feeling those effects are actually in the PC version, but due to a bug the shader "wax" effects aren't being applied to characters.

I mean Chaos Theory had the same effects. Walk out into the rain and you'll see the same waxy effects as DA on the 360.
