Default Fedora Core 6 + 1.0-9629

So I've tried adding NVidia 1.0-9629 drivers to Fedora Core 6. I've tried on two systems using the livna.org kmod-nvidia package and once with the IA32 driver on this website.

Each time, the drivers worked with Compiz, but they left me with 800x600 resolution. When I uninstalled the driver and went back to the FC6 default drivers ("xorg-x11-drv-nv-1.2.0-4.fc6.i386.rpm" I think), I could go back up to 1200x1024.

My Xorg.conf has no mode or modeline settings in it in either case.

The HowTo I was originally following for the install is here: http://scribez.wordpress.com/2006/10...n-nvidia-card/

Please start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 6

and then generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log

Thanks,
Lonni

Thanks. Here's the problem:
(--) NVIDIA(0): --- EDID for @@@ (CRT-0) ---
(--) NVIDIA(0): Maximum Image Size : 65535mm x 65535mm
(--) NVIDIA(0): Valid HSync Range : 4294967 kHz - 0 kHz
(--) NVIDIA(0): Valid VRefresh Range : -1 Hz - 0 Hz
(--) NVIDIA(0): EDID maximum pixel clock : 0.0 MHz

The EDID getting returned has bogus information, which results in the driver failing to validate most modes. You can attempt to work around this by setting UseEDID to false, and specifying a modeline.

Thanks,
Lonni
