the wine opengl developers told me it looks like a bug in the video driver |

Reproduced on 9742 with wine 0.9.25 running wow in OpenGL. Crossover 6.0b2 doesn't seem to have any issues, so I'd think that this is likely caused by something new in wine.

I have an idea what might be wrong after I checked your wow.log. It could have something to do with wine's opengl pixel format code which I'm busy rewriting. Could you create a similar log file using older Nvidia drivers?

I don't no if it helps. This Driver is running very fine on my Fedora 6 also all OpenGL. But before i had to uninstall all nvidia driver and clean all files in /var/lib/nvidia. After I done this, the driver run fine.

nvmarionew: What patch do you mean? I'm getting the same error for any game that uses OpenGL.

Me too! Which, with the 8800 GTS it will even run "ok" in direct3d at high settings, but I know it will run like flawlessly if I can get opengl going.. if I only could.. please!

As with most things it's probably "both" It's possible for a driver to work around bugs in programs, and it's possible for the programs to work around these bugs, sometimes by implementing or not implementing certain features that cause the issue.
Nevertheless, I'm going to say it's the driver here because this driver has a lot of issues on the 8800 series, so I think they have some work to do before release (which I hope is soon, but I definitely want it to fix this issue, and the fact the video card "turns off"(non-recoverable) when I leave X AT ALL, doesn't work with beryl, etc.) |
