Default Worth swapping 7800GT SLI to a 8800GTS?

Ive been thinking of buying a 8800GTS but are there any benifits compared to my 7800GT SLI?

- faster?
- better iq?
- other comments?

Faster and MUCH better image quality, plus you get 16xAA for nearly the same speed as 4xAA.

Though not a GTS, you can see the results of going from my 7800GT SLI to a GTX at 1600x1200.

Oblivion
7800GT SLI HDR 0xAA - 13 FPS
8800 GTX HDR 16xA - 30 FPS

FEAR
7800GT SLI, 4xAA - 61fps
8800 GTX, 16xAA - 67fps

Doom 3
7800GT SLI, 4xAA - 76fps
8800 GTX, 16xAA - 90fps

I was waiting for a few months for 8 series. But Sillyeagle's findings as he just mentioned have move me into buying a GTX. Should have it in a few days. Really kicking myself for canceling that pre order

8 or 16 AA PLUS HDR in Oblivion. It's worth it just for current games IMHO.

Oblivion seems to get a real boost on the 8800 series. I have few brands to choose from:

Asus 8800GTS
BFG 8800GTS
Leadtek 8800GTS (not reference cooler)

anyone have any clue if the Leadtek 8800GTS is quiet since it doesnt have the reference cooler?

I have a X2 4800 and I went from a 7800GTX-SLI setup to a single 8800GTX. No question about it, the 8800GTX is far faster than the SLI setup I had before. Don't just go by 3DMark scores, real world gaming frame rates are much better than I had expected. Not to mention the IQ and AA are fabulous. This is the first card upgrade I have seen since the old 3Dfx cards that actually felt like a substantial boost to me. Well worth the money. Sorry, I can't comment on the GTS, but go for GTX if you can sqeeze out the extra dough.
