Ill be picking the game hopefully on Nov15...
![]() Most reviews i have seen arent spectacular about the game just ~88/91% because they compare it with their previous game ->Rome total war who got average 94/96% in the popular gaming sites .. So its a bit unfair ,to not give the game a more closer rating than their previous RTS just because is an evolutionary step..(which i agree) since the gameplay is about the same ,with few addons and improved animations and graphics. I mean why reinvent the wheel? if it working so well ,dont fix it. lol.. im curious about the camera postion.. the game trailers show custom camera views ,very close to the ground ,that i cant do in the game demo .Perhaps someone will mod it , if its not possible out of the box game. Feedback about the game and screenshots are welcome. Last edited by Nv40; 11-15-06 at 12:29 AM. |

Wow this game is real fun... lol.
I never though there will be so many things to be aware ,in the campaing now. MErchant ,princess ,priest. aside from the diplomats and assasins . the animations videos in importants events are sooo coool. ![]() i have a question ,dont know how to use merchants.. most of the time they do nothing. Priest? how you convert people to your religion? they seems to be passive characters . i never thought cruzades will be fun . i made the mistake to play the camping in medium dificulty and the game seems too easy . aside note ..Dont miss the Limited edition of Medieval 2.. it have tons of DVD's , the soundtrack of the game ,two DVd's of the game ,and two history channel DVD movies on the crusades. plus a map. Im playing as Spain.. but will like to test all other factions .. i think the game will keep me busy for 6 months easily or more if the community release great mods. ![]() performance wise this game kills my core2 @3ghz and 7600gt. barely can play at 1280x1024..with all settings semi-high. its my crappy video card the bottleneck. |

Well, I'll be picking this up tomorrow - good to know that my 7600GT is going to totally choke on it!

i think shadows is what kills the game performance hit.. Tweaking the shadows or disabling them with make the biggest impact in performance. I have heard of people with 7950's having not very smooth framerates at highest res/settings . if you have core2 and a 7600gt *AND* at least 1GB of ram ,the game will play between 20-30fps in huge battles. that is at 1280x1024 using 4xAA/no AF. forget the demo ,i got better framerates there. Was playing with all game effects on ultra high ,but shadows a bit lower than high. that was past.. because now got a brand new 8800gts. ![]() people with only 512 of ram will have even more lower Fps ,since the game reads lots of data from the harddisk. with 2gb game missions loads insanely fast and rarely need to load for the HD.. aside note.. a new mod is out.. with ALL FACTIONS PLAYABLE.. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...62#post1305562 |

I've been playing it for 2 days now, and for about 8 hours today. WHAT A GAME!!!
Everything is so much improved over Rome and the original Medieval, especially the sounds, battle map, animations, graphics, AI, diplomacy, religion and the crusades. I've had some major issues with my gfx card and I haven't taken any screenshots yet but I'll be sure to post some soon!

Ok .. finally got my new 8800GTS to work.. the game looks pure awesomeness at 8xQ with 16XAF and all settings ultra high.. .
But sadly still feels choppy the framerates.. the highest playable was 1600x1200 8xQ with TSS and trilinear ,No AF. The game is far more killer in performance than Oblivion which is a surprise . i guess its the price you need to pay if you want Epic battles. this game is one of the few where u need an 8800 in SLI if you want to play at 40fps++ min. or more ,.at ultra high resolutions and max settings. Yeah, you may actually be CPU limited. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this is more graphically demanding than oblivion, think of how many men are on the battlefield and how big the landscapes are. NV40, what kind of CPU and how much RAM you have? Also, please post some screenshots with those awesome settings you're running at!

I am loving this game. especially the grand campaign. My fears about the AI haven't materialised so far as long as I play on very hard. it's competant enough to make what I think are logical decisions and it's giving me a run for the money.
plus the game is just superbly made from the graphics to the suitably kick ass soundtrack. |

my system specs are e6600 @2.4ghz ,2gb gskill ,8800gts. it could be cpu limited or maybe its that im using to agressive AA/resolution settings .. the game looks awesome at 1600x1200 8xQ with TSS,4xAF ,all game settings max. i will be posting screenshots later . the game screenshots format is TGA and they take up to 3mb . Unfortunately the captured screensthots does not match the graphics in game. perhaps my aplication NEro viewer that use a crappy blur filter that smooth the jaggies but make looks a bit 'washeout' the graphics. Will try photoshop later. you can find trailers of the gameplay at GT.. http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs=1&id=2767 |
