New CentOS 4.4 machine with a 6200LE video card. I installed the driver exactly as it's supposed to work. Restarted and see the Nvidia splash screen when rhgb starts and when gnome starts. No issues and from what I can tell the Nvidia driver is loaded properly.
nvidia-bug-report.log recognizes my card and my monitor and everything looks cool. But in - System Settings > Display - it still shows the Vesa(generic) driver and Generic LCD monitor. Although everything looks like the Nvidia driver is installed and working properly, how can I really tell within the GUI? I apologize, I'm used to MS Windows GUI. I have always used Linux in terminal mode, this is my first time using a Linux GUI. |
