The 97.02 were too buggy for me to keep anyways. I believe they're meant for 8800's only for a good reason (or maybe not, a lot of 8800 owners are talking about all sorts of problems with games which I have no problems with, using 91.xx drivers)

Actually I liked both. They both have their merits.
But the new CP is just too slow to load and sluggish. If the new CP is just as fast as the old one, I would prefer the new CP. |

It doesn't save settings under a non-admin account and I am sure nView profiles are completely workable under non-admin as well. They insist on one thing: reading and writing to system32.

The new control panel any day. You guys that are voting for the old control panel must sure not use game profiles. Making them with the new control panel is much easier. From the poll, seems a lot of people just don't like change. I thought the old control panel was rinky dink, looked more like it belonged in Windows 98 instead of XP. It's old looking, outdated and has out lived it's effectiveness and adaptability. New one is just a lot more professional looking and more functional. The ones who don't like the new control panel better sure not upgrade to Vista, gonna be too big a jump.
Nvidia, keep the new one and add some things to it like refresh rate overrides and Render Frame ahead options!

Obviously the new CP is being fetchingly pwnd in this poll!
the poll figure is like the performance of Oblivion in 8800GTX vs 6200 running @1600x1200 ![]()

Looks like Nvidia will be bringing back the old CP.
I like the old CP as well and use the reg-hack to get it back with the newer drivers. AMD/ATI need to get it together too. ATI's ccc totally sucks and I use the old CP there as well.

where did you read the old CP is coming back?
Anyhow, heres a work around fix untill that happens, if it does .. i havent tried this myself yet, but aparently it's works 100% ! Fire up REGEDIT and go to the following - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NV IDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Po licies Create the following DWord - SedonaDisable And set it's value to 2 Now save and close REGEDIT. Go to Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/8800 GTX or GTS Tab Select Control Panel User Interface Select Classic NVIDIA Control Panel |
