Sometimes while using Xorg 7.1the screen gets all colored (all yellow, all blue, etc.) and then the system freezes.
Interesting stuff: Code:

Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log while this problem is present, along with details how it can be reproduced.
Thanks, Lonni |

I need to see a bug report against the nvidia X driver. If the system is hanging, then generate the bug report after rebooting, yet before starting X again.
I have a few questions: 0) How can this problem be reproduced? 1) Does booting with the idle=poll and/or noapic kernel parameters have any impact? 2) Was this problem present in any older driver versions? 3) Does this problem reproduce without the Composite extension? 4) Have you verified that you're using the latest BIOS for the motherboard? Thanks, Lonni |

the only bug report I can do if just after rebooting. X were already started, is this a problem? Quote:
1) I'll try these, but i guess that idle=poll will consume more power and heat more 2) Not in 8xxx, never tried another 9xxx driver 3) I'll try this 4) Sure, latest BIOS from ABIT Why questions starts from 0? 0 is reserved for a negative return value from a staff (dunno what to do, try 0) ![]() |

Correct, you need to generate the bug report after rebooting (yet before starting X again). You need to configure the OS not to start X at bootup.

I was able to do a bugreport while the error was running (scheduled in cron every 2 minutes)

Did you test everything else that I suggested?

Your log shows you're still using the "nv" driver in the device section.
I would replace the "nv" with "nvidia" And I would comment out the Option AccelMethod "exa" by putting a '#' at the beginning of the line. See what happens. This is just to let the "nvidia" driver do it's default thing. You can uncomment the "exa" line if you have a successful boot on the next go round to see what happens. Hank |
