Hi everybody,
i have a small problem with my system. If i use the standby-modus with Fedora Core 6 (and all other distributions) and restart the system i have always a black screen. Only a reset helps. I have read in this forum i can use the follow option in the xorg.conf: Code:
Option "NvAGP" "1" Option "VBERestore" "True" Code:
$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/card Fast Writes: Supported SBA: Supported AGP Rates: 8x 4x Registers: 0xff000e1b:0x00000000 $ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status Status: Disabled $ dmesg | grep agp Linux agpgart interface v0.101 (c) Dave Jones agpgart: Detected an Intel i875 Chipset. agpgart: AGP aperture is 128M @ 0xd0000000 Regards Michael Last edited by Vagabund; 11-25-06 at 03:15 AM. |

Read appendix Q of the driver readme for more information. There are some known issues regarding standby and it doesn't work that well for most people.

In the past, a number of Linux AGPGART backend drivers also didn't implement power management functionality (or didn't implement it correctly); judging from your experience, this may still be the case. You may want to try the builtin NvAGP AGP GART driver, instead (see http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...ppendix-q.html, as Thunderbird suggested).

Thanks for your help, but i have found a solution in the german fedorawiki
http://fedorawiki.de/index.php/Suspe...Nvidia-Treiber - No changing in the xorg.conf - grub.conf added with agp=off - etc/pm/functions-nvidia /usr/sbin/vbetool post removed Now AGP8x with suspend standby/hibernate works perfect. Regards Michael |

@Vagabund: it sounds like you switched to the builtin NvAGP AGP GART driver, as suggested in the README (agp=off disables the Linux AGPGART driver).
