Hi everybody,
I'm a french guy so, I'm sorry for the "bad" english. I write this topic because I ve several problems with my GeForce 7900 GO GTX under ubuntu edgy. I have even posted some thread on other forums but no one can help me...So we can say you're my last chance . In fact, when I install the linux drivers (no compiling problems...), after rebooting/restarting the X server, I've some blinking pixels on my screen...and I don't know why...I precise this problem is only on ubuntu and not under Window$ so I think this isn t a card problem. After some times, generally between 3 or 5 minutes, the laptop becomes slower and slower and it freezes... so I don't know where to begin so, I hope that some of you can help me ![]() Tekman |

Hi zander,
here are the 2 requested files. I can add my config on the post: Laptop keynux with 2 GB of DDR2, Geforce 7900 GO GTX, intel core 2 duo 7400. I hope you can help me . I've add the idle=poll option on boot, and I've seen on a post that entering the command : modprobe nvidia NVreg_RegistryDwords="PerfLevelSrc=0x2222" can help but it doesn't.Thanks for your help |

Have you verified that you're using the latest BIOS?

I have my notebook since 2 month, and the constructor doesn't provide new bios. so I don't know where to find them. I'll send them a mail monday to know if one is available. I've seen in another post, that the command: sudo modprobe nvidia NVreg_RegistryDwords="PerfLevelSrc=0x2222" for 7950 GX2 can help to avoid this blinking pixels. But on my laptop it doesn't.

From your bug report, it looks like you're using a Clevo notebook. What is the actual brand/model?

yes it is, in fact it's the keynux brand derivated from the clevo brand. But I don't know which model from us correspond to my model. For info, i'm using a Keynux Ymax DX (www.keynux.com) if it(s can help you to find my problem

I'm afraid that I have no means of determining whether that SBIOS is appropriate for your system. You'll need to contact the vendor.
Thank, Lonni |
