Unless I'm missing something, it's still only two processors, so there'd only be two fans.

approx double on what the qx6700 uses, in both idle and 100% cpu load.

To give you an idea, the 4x4 fx-74's eats up 400 watts on IDLE!!

two fans for the processors.. and 3 fans for everything else.

so not quite 4x... Well it depends on what mobo setup you have.. For example, 1 cpu fan and maybe 1 chipset fan(depending on mobo) on a Intel platform.

Yikes, those aren't even fans on the chipset, just the MOSFETs. But then with that much power running through there, I guess it's not surprising. Which also completely kills any price benefit of 4x4 since it's going to cost a fortune just to turn the thing on. Is anyone actually going to buy this right now? It's targetted at enthusiasts, but they're going to know better than to throw money away like that.

And let's not talk about the performance/power consumption ratio...
I think they just mean that its the first board with multi sockets designed for the the desktop, not server or workstation.

I think AMD shouldn't have increased the FX numbers so high... when the FX62 was beating out almost all the 4x4 benchies in most every game, it made me kinda sad

Isn't this so funny...none of us probably thought AMD would be in the situation there are in now...especially thinking of this 1 year ago.

CORE 2 DUO FTW! In this regard Intel's new "LEAP AHEAD" slogan is no joke. Hats off to the Israeli Engineer Team for a screaming fast processor.

games arent multithreaded, if intel had 20 billion chips it wouldnt make a diffenerence in gaming (today at least)
