Unhappy Compiz & Segmentation Fault

Hi

I usually used Xgl to make compiz work on my pc.
I wanted to try new nvidia drivers (9629) that should support compiz without Xgl or aiglx right?..
I have a Geforce4 440Mx. When i try to run compiz i always get a Segmentation Fault. I tried versions 0.3.4 0.3.2 0.2.2. But nothing changes;
If i run compiz with --indirect-rendering i don't get segfault but i can see only a black screen..

What can I do ?
I'm using Xorg 7.1.99.903

Thanks a lot
Micko

Tried the new 9631?

Might be worth generating a nvidia-bug-report.log if you expect much help. Check out the Stickies.

Cool Re: Compiz & Segmentation Fault

Well i didn't solve anything
so i try to give you more informations.. Maybe you can understand how to solve..

I tried to update nvidia drivers to 9631 --> nothing changed;
I tried new and older version of xorg (7.1 and newer) --> nothing changed
I tried last compiz versions --> still same issue

97* drivers do not support my card (Geforce4 440 mx) anymore.

I can copy here gdb output when i run compiz:

Reading symbols from /usr/X11R6/bin/compiz...done.
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1"
(gdb) run --replace
Starting program: /usr/X11R6/bin/compiz --replace

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0xb772cd13 in _nv000104gl () from /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1

and i can attach nvidiabugreport.log

Hope this helps
bye
Micko
